Steeling Velcro idea
ScienceDaily
German scientists have developed a new hook and loop fastener made of spring steel. Unlike fasteners made of Velcro which are too weak for many applications, the new steel kind is resistant to chemicals and can withstand a tensile load of up to 35 tonnes per square metre at temperatures as high as 800 degrees C.
So what? The new steel fasteners, called Metaklett, are tough enough to be used to attach building facades, in the car industry or in HVAC systems which require easily opened but stable fasteners.
