A bright little idea

BBC News

Researchers have developed a new technique for making flexible inorganic LEDs. Inorganic LEDs are the bright little lights which make it possible to see a billboard clearly on a sunny day. Currently, complex displays of inorganic LEDs have to be individually arranged on flat-surfaced media such as display boards.

So what?

In future, all kinds of surfaces – such as curved areas – could feature bright displays which would be connected more easily since they are all manufactured on the same bendable surface. Are flexible, flashing fashions next?
