Dainty T. rex relative

Analysis of a fossil found in the Gobi Desert in 2001 has revealed that T. rex dinosaurs had a thin, graceful cousin. The new dinosaur species, Alioramus altai, has been nicknamed the "ballerina of dinosaurs". This tiny dino had a small skull with eight horns, slender teeth, measured four metres from snout to tail, and weighed a mere one-twentieth as much as a T. rex.

So what?

A. altai was found at the same site as other big tyrannosaurs, indicating that closely related species lived in the same place at the same time. This means that dinosaurs had specific niches, sharing their environment but adapting to it differently.
