Bigger bolide doomed dinosaurs

A massive, submerged basin off the coast of India may actually be the largest, multi-ringed impact crater on the planet. Researchers plan to seek further geographical evidence by seeing if rocks drilled from the centre of the crater show signs of having been shattered or melted by an asteroid impact.
So what? The impact off India could have been the asteroid that sealed the fate of the dinosaurs. Its estimated 40-kilometre size would have been four times greater than the one that hit Mexico 65 million years ago.
