On Wednesday, June 23 at 1:41 pm, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake rattled Southern Ontario and parts of Quebec - no major damage or injuries reported.

So what?

Earthquakes that can be felt are very rare in Ontario, but each year about 450 quakes occur in Eastern Canada. A handful can be felt - most can only be detected by instruments.
